Review: The Virtuoso Lover by Michael Webb
Let’s be honest here, everyone wants to be great in bed. The problem is that there is very little information out there about how to be good in bed and a surprisingly large amount of misinformation. That was the reasoning that drove me to seminars and reading books and ultimately to make completeorgasmguide.com. It is a lot of work, but every time I overhear a woman in a bar talking about faking it, I always feel inspired to write more!
So how does Michael Webb’s new book trilogy “The Virtuoso Lover” compare to the mountains of books that claim to make you dynamite between the sheets?
Let’s find out:
The first thing that I liked was the length. I can’t stand books that are too short and miss vital details, so that was a plus for me. This book spans 524 pages which is pretty much all the information that you could ever need! Of course this is quite an epic read and there were one or two areas where some words could’ve been cut without sacrificing anything, but too much information is vastly preferable to too little! It also has a habit of drilling the fundamentals into your repeatedly. It is designed to make the points stick firmly in your head, but I found that I was skipping some of these sections!
One thing that gets a massive thumbs-up from me is that the author deals with both the emotional and physical aspects of sex. It is really easy to get caught up in what your body should be doing and forget that you should be stimulating her mind too. This and other mistakes that guys often make takes up the first section which is good as the first thing that guys need to learn is where they are going wrong before they can learn what they should be doing.
The next part was a bit of a surprise to me: it deals with instilling the right mindset, beliefs and attitudes into you to become a sex master. This is a great addition as too many guys get crushed when they don’t perform sexually. If you go into sex with the right mindset, that this is a process and that her pleasure is as important as your pleasure, then giving her a huge orgasm becomes a lot easier.
The Virtuoso Lover
Virtuoso Lover Techniques
The second book is designed to build on the first book by giving you all the information that you need about techniques. The guide is pretty comprehensive including a guide to erogenous zones and in what order to touch them to ‘enjoy her body like a virtuoso.’
I have a test for guides: if a guide deals with nothing but clitoris and G-spot orgasms, I immediately put it down and go and read something else. The key thing to remember is that a woman’s entire body can act as a giant erogenous zone when she is really excited. Thankfully Michael Webb has a lot of ideas for what to do with her neck, shoulders, arms, chest, legs, mouth, eyes, ears and many other areas! As foreplay is a really important skill, I really liked this element.
Michael Webb coined the phrase ‘the paradox of trying too hard’ to describe guys who reduce themselves to robotic parodies in their efforts to give women the sex they think they need. Don’t be that guy! Instead you want your movements to be spontaneous and relaxed, performed for her pleasure. Michael Webb is one guy who knows that the less you think, the better your sex will be.
Book 3: Bringing it All Together
Book 3 finishes off the trilogy by covering orgasms, faking it, positions, undressing a woman, sensuality, sex talk and being comfortable in your own skin. All the previous strands are brought together here. The key concept here is that sex should be about self-discovery for both of you. Once you understand that sex goes a lot deeper than just two people naked.
All in all, this is an exceptional trilogy on the art of true lovemaking. If you’re interested in pleasing women rather than stroking your ego, then this book is definitely for you.
